Gameplay FAQs

What happens if I forget to read my card aloud before placing it?

The card is forfeited, returned to its deck, and your turn ends. You cannot draw a replacement card for the forfeited one.

Can I use the Any-Matcher card to match any name and meaning card together?

No, the Any-Matcher card allows you to match it with any single card in the middle. It acts like a wild card for itself.

Is there a limit to the number of matches I can make in one turn?

Yes, you can make up to three successful matches in a single turn.

How do we start the game?

Select a player to start the game. They will choose a card from their hand, read it aloud, and place it face up in the centre.

What should I do if I have a duplicate card?

You can either keep it or use the 'Duplicate shuffle' option to shuffle it back into the deck and draw a new card.

How are winners determined in the event of a tie?

A quiz round is conducted where tied players answer questions about the names of Allah. The player with the most correct answers wins.

Can I claim a match during another player's turn?

No, you can only claim matches on your turn.

What happens if I run out of cards?

If you run out of cards, you're out of the game. Your score is based on the matches you made until that point.

Can I play more than one Advantage Card in a turn?

Yes, but remember using an Any-Matcher card ends your turn immediately.

Are players allowed to take notes for the tiebreaker quiz?

No, note-taking is not allowed. The quiz is meant to test your memory and knowledge.

What should I do if a player claims a wrong match?

No, you can only play one card at a time and must wait until your next turn to play another.

What if I have a duplicate card in my hand, and it’s already been played in the middle?

You can apply the ‘Duplicate shuffle.’ Announce “Duplicate shuffle,” shuffle the card back into the bottom of its deck, and then draw another card from that deck.

What happens if there are no more name cards left to draw after I play a name card, but there are only meaning cards left, or vice versa?

If the deck you need to draw from is empty (e.g. no more name cards), you cannot draw a replacement. This means you’ll have to continue with the cards you have in hand. Therefore, if you notice one type of card is running low, it might be advantageous to play the other type, as this ensures you can still draw replacements after your turn.
